BrandIT acquires Igloo domain brokerage

Igloo will be part of European brand management company.

Domain name brokerage Igloo has agreed to be acquired by BrandIT, the company announced today.

BrandIT is a European corporate domain name management company that offers domain portfolio services, online brand protection/enforcement and other services for companies to manage their domain names.

Igloo has completed $140 million in brokerage transactions since it was founded seven years ago.

I haven’t heard of BrandIT before, but this acquisition interests me for two reasons:

1. It’s a European company, which should give domain sellers reach into a market that isn’t served by as many domain brokers.

2. As a company that serves corporations, domain sellers should be able to get their domains in front of end user buyers.
